This week in our learning journey we have been learning as scientists! We have learned a huge amount of knowledge about electricity, from the units electricity is measured in (Volts) to how to be safe with electricity to what the different components of a circuit are called.
To further our scientific learning, we have also begun finding out about conductors and insulators. Ask us to tell you what these are! We have practised the skill of predicting the outcome of a scientific experiment and we have also practised planning a fair test. Do you know how many elements can be changed in a fair test?
Our Very Own Bright Sparks of the Week!
Literacy This week in Year 4 we have been continuing our work on letters. We know what the important features of letters are and have spent the week practising using them in our own letters. We have planned and written different paragraphs and are ready to write our finished letters up next week. Year 3 have been looking at the work of amazing authors Julia Donaldson and Roald Dahl. We have been comparing the stories and talking about our preferences. | Maths This week in Year 3 has been all about time! We have been practising telling the time using analogue and digital clocks and have even had to solve some word problems about time! Year 4 have been practising finding fractions of numbers. We started the week by learning how to find halves and quarters of numbers. As we got more confident, we challenged ourselves to find more complex fractions like 3/4 or 4/5. |
