IPC
This was challenging as we have to read through lots of information to find the answers and then made notes on the key points. We have been improving writing in our own words, rather than copying the information from the sources.
Year 4
LiteracyIn literacy we have continued our learning through Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We have focused on knowing the parts of a story and particularly planning our setting and character descriptions. We will be planning our own chocolate stories therefore we have designed our own characters. By listening to and reading the novel, we are improving our writing to make it as fantastic as Roald Dahl's! | MathsThis week in maths Year 4 have been working hard to complete some tricky code questions. Using our understanding of division and the bus stop method we have wrote our own sums to be used in the codes. We have also started some new learning about line graphs. We have been focusing on the specific type of data that we could use in a line graph and deepening our understanding of this - now we know that continuous (measured) data is used! |
Year 3
MathsYear 3 started learning about gathering data and how to use the data they gather to make bar graphs. We thought about how to ask relevant questions in order to gather our information and also what types of preferences people have that we could survey. We then practised taking a survey to find out what chocolate the learners in 3T like best - milk, white or dark chocolate. This information was used to practise making bar graphs. 3T also took a survey of 4G's favourite chocolate bars and 3D surveyed 4A. | LiteracyIn Year 3 Literacy, we have been learning how to write Limericks. Here is a Limerick that helps us to remember how to write them: A Limerick is cleverly versed, The second line rhymes with the first, The third one is short, The fourth's the same sort, And the last one is often the worst. We had lots of fun finding rhyming words and fitting them in to make funny Limericks. We practised editing and re drafting. Come and read our finished product hanging in our classes. We are very proud of them |
