What a fabulous year in Milepost 2! We have been part of so much fantastic learning!
This week as part of our learning in SCIENCE, and leading up to our exit point, Milepost 2 have been learning all about adaptation.
In literacy this week, Year 4 have been finishing off our learning about diaries. We have used all of the language features we learned about last week to try to write a creative and imaginative diary entry of our own. It was hard because Mr. Michael and Mr. Thabo challenged us to do everything independently, but we are proud of what we have produced.
This week in maths, Year 4 have continued our focus on mental skills as we have been focusing on rounding and mentally adding two digit numbers. We used interactive resources to play some learning games to consolidate what we already knew and lots of us showed that we were becoming risk takers in our learning by attempting more challenging tasks.
Our maths learning in Year 3 has concentrated on practising our multiplication and division skills. We have done this both mentally and using written methods and are amazed at how much progress we have made since the beginning of the year. Great learning! We have also been trying to solve some puzzles and problems relating to shapes to make us use our thinking skills!
In literacy, we have been learning all about the amazing animals that live on our planet. We have had to do lots of research and then used what we found out to help us write an information text. We have even started putting our learning into a powerpoint presentation using the skills we have learned with Mr. David in ICT.
