Bright Sparks This week in our Bright Sparks unit we have been learning as historians, finding out all about the history of electrical inventions. We have created amazing timelines of what we found out showing when a wide range of different electrical appliances were invented. Can you believe that the electric car was invented in 1880! We have also found out how electricity is produced. Watch this video to find out for yourself! | |
Scroll over these pictures to see when they were invented.
Literacy Year 4 have continued without literacy focus on non-chronological reports this week. We finished off our reports about electricity which look fantastic and have independently used what we learned about writing reports to produce another one about school. In Year 3 we have been continuing our learning about book reviews. We have been writing, editing and improving our own reviews of some of our favourite books. | Maths Maths in Year 4 has been all about measurement this week. We began the week by remembering how to measure length using a ruler and then moved on to trying to convert between mm, cm, m and km. It was really tricky, but we did a great job! In Year 3 we have been learning about fractions again this week. We have practised finding equivalent fractions using shapes and using number lines and we have even begun looking at non-unit fractions. |
