4T Families please remember our assembly on Wednesday 7th October. We are really excited to share our learning with you! | Milepost 2 have been learning through technology this week and it has been YUMMY! We received a letter from Mr. Willy Wonka which asked us to plan and design a new chocolate bar for him. One that had never been created before! To let us do this we began the week by learning how to make chocolate. We were cooperative and great communicators when working with our teams to do this. After that, we were lucky enough to get to taste test 5 different chocolate flavours: our class made chocolate, mint, orange, almond and salted caramel. we discussed which of these flavours we preferred and why. Finally, we were given a tray of 23 different ingredients, from fresh pepper and wasabi to dried strawberries! Working with our teams we tried these flavours and thought about which ones would be the best for our new Wonka bar. What do you think we chose? |
Our Super Stars!
Literacy All of Milepost 2 have been learning about instructions in our literacy learning this week. We have considered the key features of instructions, found out that we should use imperative, or bossy, verbs and that adverbs are important. It has been great linking our literacy and learning journey this week as we followed instructions about how to make chocolate in our technology learning. | Maths Children in Year 3 have been learning all about shape in their maths this week. They remembered 2D and 3D shapes and then began describing them using their properties. They have also learned about symmetry this week, practising finding lines of symmetry on different shapes. Year 4 have been concentrating on multiplication this week. We began by practising multiplying numbers by 10, 100 and 1000. Do you know what happens? We then moved on to learning the grid method of multiplication. This was tricky, but we were resilient and kept trying! |
