Last weekend, three of our Middle Years learners represented iCAN at the ISPP Model United Nations Conference. Each one of them was given a country that they had to speak on behalf of and write policies for. After lots of preparation and hard work they overcame their nerves to take part in lobbying sessions, debating and resolution-writing. We are incredibly proud of these three learners who have been Model United Nations pioneers for iCAN, and we look forward to more learners following in their footsteps at future conferences.
Year 7 have been learning a new language in maths: the language of algebra. They are learning how to form and simplify expressions and have been able to explain why using algebra helps us to find rules and patterns. The learners first took some risks in this unit with developing their skills in dealing confidently and accurately with negative numbers. They then had to work out some complex calculations using BIDMAS to help them get the correct order of operations.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
