This week's Talk Topic is... The Water Festival!
Last weekend, three of our Middle Years learners represented iCAN at the ISPP Model United Nations Conference. Each one of them was given a country that they had to speak on behalf of and write policies for. After lots of preparation and hard work they overcame their nerves to take part in lobbying sessions, debating and resolution-writing. We are incredibly proud of these three learners who have been Model United Nations pioneers for iCAN, and we look forward to more learners following in their footsteps at future conferences.
Year 9 have worked hard at developing their skills with fractions and will be applying these later in the unit to explore the concept of probability. They have been working on finding percentages of amounts using non-calculator and calculator methods by making decimal multipliers. They have shown great resilience while working through these tasks, and have been able to reflect on how percentages are essential in the business world.
