This week we have continued to explore Space. We have been using our knowledge and skills to learn more about space and planets in the solar system. We made alien hats and decorated flying saucers with non-usable CD's. We have also been looking at non-fiction video clips and books on space.
This week in Maths we have been practising ordering numbers 0-9. We are also learning to add 2 digit numbers through number rhymes and songs. We have also been recognising and matching numbers to quantities through structured cooperative games.
This week in phonics have been learning to tune into sounds using various games and resources such as Metal Mike and flash cards. We have also been practising segmenting three letter words and listening to the initial sounds in words.

Reception
This week we have been learning all about the diplodocus. We looked at non-fiction books and used the internet to find out lots of information about the diplodocus. We then used this information to write a fact file. We worked cooperatively to make a large diplodocus using different textures.
We have been learning to compare weights and height using nonstandard units like cups, cylinders and pots. We are learning comparative language using word like heavier, lighter, lightest, taller, shorter and shortest.
In Phonics some of the learners are learning ‘igh’ and ‘oa’ sounds and the other learners are recapping Phase 2 and Phase 3 sounds.
