Over the last few weeks we have been exploring and learning all about seasons around the world! We looked at video clips about changes in the weather and seasonal patterns. For our EXIT point we drew seasonal patterns. We also shared the story The Tiny Seed.
On Wednesday we had our ENTRY POINT for our new learning topic ‘HOUSES and HOMES’. We shared the story ‘THE THREE LITTLE PIGS’ and discussed the different houses the pigs built. The learners enjoyed watching the teacher’s role playing the story THREE LITTLE PIGS.

This week the learners were busy bees as we explored the important work bees do. They learnt about how bees collect pollen and nectar to make honey, the different jobs bees have (queen, dorm and worker) and even how bees are important for our fruit and flowers. The learners particularly enjoyed getting a closer look at homey comb, commercial honey and organic honey- it lead to a sticky and yummy exploration session.
Following on from our one more last week the learners have been using this new skill to add two groups of objects together and find the total number. They have been using the plus and equals signs when writing their own sums and thinking of different ways to make 5 ( number bounds to 5).
While learning about the bee hive the learners came across the hexagon shape, they explored how the shape fits together perfectly without any gaps.
