We will start our new unit The Time Tunnel in the new learning block with an exciting entry point on the first day back.
This week Y6 have been continuing with our geometry topic. After recapping properties of 2D shapes and 3D objects; learners had great fun learning about circumference, diameter, and radius of circles before drawing their own circles using a compass. This was trickier than first thought! We then looked at measuring angles using a protractor. We learnt that all the angles inside a triangle add up to 180 degrees and were able to find missing angles in triangles and other shapes.
Continuing with our text study of Wonder Y6 have also begun to compare the book version with the movie. There are lots of interesting comparisons that we made. Some of the characters were not what we were expecting at all and some were exactly as we predicted! We have also noticed that the book is written from the perspective of several different characters which was more tricky to portray through the film adaptation.
