Year 8 have thrown themselves into the "learning pit" this week as they have been introduced to solving simultaneous equations. Through resilience and a positive attitude, they have all developed skills to climb out of the "pit". Here's one learner proudly showing off his completed challenge.
ICT - Computers
Year 8 have been learning about the history of the internet and HTML. They are beginning to know how to create a simple webpage complete, with headings, paragraphs, images and hyperlinks.
Over the coming weeks Year 8 will be learning to code in HTML5 using notepad++ and the w3 w3schools website so that they can create more detailed websites. They will also be applying their Adobe Fireworks skills (a lightweight graphics creation software) which they developed earlier in the year.
By the end of the unit they will be able to produce a complete self made website using code and their own personal images. The website will contain links, CSS, tables, lists and forms. We will be using resources from http://www.w3schools.com/ for the duration of the unit.
Throughout the unit learners are creating a glossary of terms and instructions for coding, an example of which is below.
Y8 and 9 have thrown themselves into the "learning pit" as they have been introduced to solving simultaneous equations. Through resilience and a positive attitude, they have all developed skills to climb out of the "pit". Here's S Young proudly showing off his completed challenge.
