A very proud Mr. Ibon thanked all the A-team footballers for their tremendous team spirit this morning during assembly and surprised them with a personalised gift to celebrate their journey together this year and remind them of their camaraderie and resilience in overcoming the challenges of the season.
Year 7 planned and performed a poetry slam as part of their unit of learning 'Collaboration'. The event was presented by our awesome Year 9s who also provided the entertainment during the interval in the form of a band performance. Middle Years librarians held a bake sale prior to the event and all in all raised $190 for the organisation Room to Read based here in Phnom Penh.
After a busy week of exit points the Middle Years let off some steam in their first inter-house football tournament. The tournament yielded some excellent team spirit, comedy moments and some staff's heads hung in shame!
Scores on the doors: 1st) Crocodiles- 11 points 2nd) Sarus Cranes- 7 points 3rd) Stingrays- 4 points 4th) Sun bears- 3 points Quite the turn around from Sports Day! Staff vs Crocodiles (all star) 0-2 Last week families were invited to come and chat with all their children's learning facilitators. We held the event in the hall this year as opposed to classrooms as the Middle Years programme continues to grow and expand. We had a record number of families in attendance (93%!) and almost all the children came with their families 96%!).
These events are so very important for families to hear all the positive things their learning facilitators have to say about them and their development. As well, for the children themselves to have that time with families, hearing all the great achievements they are making in their journey through school. Thank you to everyone, families and staff who made last week such a success! |
