Putting our skills to the investigation!
Literacy, literacy, literacy...
The Year 6 learners began the week with an investigation which involved us using all of our spelling, grammar and punctuation skills to solve the crime. This was great fun, especially as we had some of our families joining us for this learning. We all showed excellent enquiry skills by solving the crime! We have then moved on to thinking about the crime that occurred at Southwark Hall. This week we have considered the suspects and written descriptions of them, written police transcripts of an interview with the culprit and then moved on to begin to write newspaper articles about the crime. Lots of writing this week and we have been working hard to use all of our VCOP skills to ensure the work we complete is to the best of our ability! Fantastic, Year 6 learners!
Mathstastic!
The Year 6 learners completed another investigation with their parents in as part of family learning day. They needed to use a range of skills such as: coodinates, angles and properties of shape to allow them to solve the crime. Great enquiry skills saw them completing this with accuracy and confidence! They have then continued to work on percentages and how to find percentages of numbers. They have been solving percentage word problems and are becoming more confident every day. Great learning!
