Maths This week we have moved onto the enormous topic that is Fractions! There are lots of ways to explore Fractions. This week we have thought about the following: What are fractions? How can we represent a fraction? How do we simplify fractions? Can we recognise equivalent fractions? We will be continuing this topic after Pchum Ben, but in the mean time please feel free to explore fractions at home! Maybe you've baked a cake and you need to divide it into fifths? The following video is a fun reminder of what fractions are and how we can represent them. Feel free to make your own short clip introducing fractions to someone who has never heard of them! | Literacy A mysterious incident has taken place in Year 6 this week! Year 6 watched the following footage and became investigative journalists. We had to analyse different types of evidence and predict what we thought had happened. We used all of the information to then write a news report. We thought about the following: Who is the man in the red scarf? Why is he dressed in such warm clothes in the middle of a desert? Where has he come from? What happened to the man in the white shirt? We received emails from the 'Editor in Chief' of iCAN News who gave us daily tasks to help us prepare for our final news report. Watch the video and predict what you think has happened! |

In order to finish our narratives we had to spend a lot of time working on our editing skills! This is a difficult skill to practice; can you remember some of the steps to editing?
