Literacy
This week in Literacy Y6 have begun to look at traditional Greek myths and legends. We identified the key features of both and explained the differences. We compared different versions of the stories of Medusa and Icarus. It was interesting to see the similarities between different Greek myths, especially how harshly people were punished for their sins! We took this to mean that perhaps myths and legends have been used over time as cautionary tales.
Maths
Y6 have continued looking at algebra this week with the learners showing superb resilience and thinking skills to demonstrate their improved understanding. The learners have often worked collaboratively to solve problems such as the one below. Each shape is a number from 0-12. Can you solve it? Towards the end of the week we looked at finding the nth term of a sequence of numbers. .
