Yet another amazing week here in MP3. The Y5 and Y6 learners participated in a number of creative arts week activities over the past few days and really showcased their inner artists! The crew from EPiC Arts, where Every Person Counts, traveled up from Kampot to give MP3 some dance lessons. After a few games and ice breakers to get the limbs moving, the MP3 learners made up their own Haka! It was a fierce show, I hear the All Blacks are coming to Cambodia for Haka lessons before the next World Cup. Under the guidance and tutelage of Mr David and Mr Sergi the MP3 learners used a green screen to make movies. It may be too late for this years Oscars, but look out in 2019 for iCAN to be dominating the awards, best acting and best special effects are a shoe-in. Using iconic buildings from Cambodia, MP3 made stencil reliefs on maps. They first chose a building and made it into a stencil. The next step was to stencil over a map of the area to be laminated then mounted. Y5 and Y6 traveled separately to the Independence Monument to sketch this iconic landmark. We got some top tips from Ms Becky and used our hour in the park to really get a good likeness. After this, back at school, the learners used water colour to bring their sketches to life! More special guests with a team of musicians from East West International School coming out to run workshops with our very own Ms Joaan. The focus was on percussion and strings. Whether they were having a go at the violin for the first time or banging on a drum, the MP3 learners were having a ball!
