Learning Journey
Now that they calculate the difference between the weight of items on Mars and Earth, they needed to put that information in practise when building a Mars Rover. The rover needed to preform a number of tasks, collecting samples, photos, testing the soil/atmosphere/gravitational pull of the planet.
Literacy
In Literacy Y6 have continued reading the novel ‘Wonder’. This week we have begun thinking more about the reactions of other people to Auggie. We wrote diary entries from the perspective of Jack, Julian and Charlotte; who met Auggie and gave him a tour of the school. Our learners had to think about how each of these characters had a very different reaction to Auggie and convey this through their writing.
Maths
In maths Y6 have been thinking about converting between measurements. We thought about different types of measurement including time, length/distance, weight/mass and capacity. We answered tricky word problems that required us to break down the question into parts. We had to be adaptable and resilient when answering these problems and think about all the different ways to find the answer.
