IPC
Year 4
LiteracyIn literacy we have been practising our grammar by working on the past and a variety of ways to start our sentences. We have practised using subordinate clauses to add extra detail to our writing, making it more interesting. To follow up from this, we have started to read 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'. We continued to work on the characters and setting in preparation for our very own Chocolate Factory stories that we will be planning and writing next week. | MathsThis week in maths Year 4 have been continuing to consolidate our division skills when using the bus stop method. To practise our skills we participated in a Question-Answer hunt that allowed us to show that we can use the bus stop method by finding all the hidden answers around the classroom! To further our understanding of division and the bus stop method we have now begun to use this skill to solve word problems. It is challenging but we enjoy it! |
Year 3
LiteracyIn Year 3 the learners have worked with a partner or individually to write great, amusing limericks. They have shown a lot of resilience and adaptability as they have practised using rhyming words, getting the rhythm and correct number of syllables into their limericks so they sound right. Once they published their limericks using their best handwriting, they illustrated them with colourful drawings. We hope you like them. | MathsYear 3 have continued to develop their understanding of subtraction, using different methods to solve subtraction problems with 3 or 4 digit numbers. They have also practised solving word problems by reading a number story and deciding which operation to use in order to solve the problem. First they need to identify what information they have and what they need to find out and decide if they need to do addition or subtraction. They also continued to practise the times tables. |
Next week we will be talking about ...Dreams.Why do we have dreams?
Why are dreams so weird?
Why do they get scary?
Many cultures believe what we dream about affects our real life and that we can read our dreams. What do you think about this?
Don't forget that Sports Day is next Friday 19th January. Make sure you have your sun hats, glasses and running shoes ready for a day of fun!
Mr Tom | Mr Adrian | MP2 would also like to wish Mr Tom and Mr Adrian GOOD LUCK for their Ultra marathon that they will be completing through Friday night and Saturday.
