The children in Milepost 2 have had a fantastic week learning all about brains. We found out that the brain is the boss of our body and looked at all the different ways our brain works in order for us to learn. Year 3 and 4 worked together when faced with a dilemma; Frankenstein was unable to learn because he had no brain! In pairs, we created a brain using newspaper, bright pink glue and bread. It was extremely messy and very sticky! Later in the week, we practised using different ways to learn by following verbal, modelled, picture and written instructions. It was tricky when we only had one type of instruction, so we agreed it was better to have a mixture to help us learn the best we can. Next week we will be learning more about the different parts of the brain and what we need to do to make them work to their best.
