This week in Milepost 2 we have carried on being historians as we have been continued our learning about the time periods that the dinosaurs lived in. We have even started thinking about what led to the dinosaurs becoming extinct at the end of the Cretaceous period. What do you think happened?

This week in maths, Year 4 have been learning all about 3D shapes. We have practised describing 3D shapes using their properties, have identified 3D shapes according to their nets and even had a go at building an amazing 3D dinosaur out of shapes. We'd love you to come and see it!
In Year 3 we have been practising our multiplication skills this week. We have learned about and tried out new methods for multiplication, used these skills to help us solve some real world problems and tried to demonstrate our understanding of these skills.
Our literacy in Year 3 this week has been concentrating on alphabetical order and punctuation. We have practised the skill of putting words into alphabetical order, thinking about how we do it if they start with the same words. We have also practised editing writing to make sure the punctuation, including speech marks, is correct.
In Year 4, we have been thinking about using complex sentences in our writing. We learned about using connectives in our sentences, about changing the word order and using clauses to add detail and interest to our work. We then applied this skill to our learning about the dinosaur time periods.
