In our learning journey this week Milepost 2 have started learning about the voyages and expeditions of Robert Scott and Roald Amundsen.
Scott and Amundsen were Antarctic Explorers who were in a race to be the first person to reach the South Pole. We found out about how they traveled, the equipment they used, when their expeditions took place and the dates that they reached the pole.
Who got their first? Come back next week to find out!
Year 4 have been learning all about symmetry in our maths sessions this week. We have remembered what it means if something is symmetrical, have practised finding and identifying lines of symmetry and have tried to use our learning to help us complete symmetrical images. Great learning! | In Year 3 this week we have been focusing on report writing in our literacy learning. This has been great as we have been able to use everything we have been learning about Scott and Amundsen to help us. We have thought about the features of a report and the type of language to use, as well as remembering to practise using the past tense correctly. We are really looking forward to writing our own Scott and Amundsen reports next week! In maths, we have been concentrating on multiplication this week. We have practised using arrays to solve multiplication problems, we have thought about how multiplication calculations can be done the other way around (commutativity) and tried to use our learning to solve some word problems. |
