We discovered that the Chocolate Shop makes some incredible flavours of chocolate and even that they used some of the same ingredients that we included in the chocolate we made at school. We asked about where their cacao beans come from, the recipe they use for the chocolates, how much cacao is in each type of chocolate and lots lots more! We also had the chance to create and mould some chocolates of our own, decorate a chocolate heart using white chocolate and try to make our very own chocolate box. Best of all, we got to take our chocolate creations home to eat and enjoy. Yum!
Thank you to everyone who has already submitted your enrichment tasks.
Remember, the due date for these is Friday 30th October! We can't wait to see them!
Literacy In Year 4, our literacy has been closely linked with our chocolate IPC unit. We have reviewed all of the learning we have done so far in the unit, recorded this in sentences using the past tense and learning language and have worked with our teams to create posters showing this learning. In Year 3 we have been risk takers in our literacy this week as we have become performance poets. We have read lots of different poems all about chocolate and then practised reading these with expression and character in our voices. It has been really challenging, but great fun! | Maths In maths, Year 3 have been learning all about finding half of different numbers. We practised this by partitioning two digit numbers into their tens and units and halving each part before putting it back together. We also consolidated what we had learned by playing games on the laptops. Why not try this at home! In Year 4, we have been practising our time keeping skills as we have learned about telling the time. We have practised telling the time to quarter to and past the hour, to 5 minute intervals and even to the exact minute. |
