What is your favourite toy?
Why are toys important?
MP1 have been super scientists this week and put our inquiry skills to good use, finding the best material for Paddington Bear's new raincoat. We knew the raincoat had to be waterproof so we planned an experiment to test different materials. We hope Paddington is pleased with the final result.
Year 1 In LITERACY we received a letter from the Magic Toymaker, what a surprise! The Magic Toymaker asked us many questions, like where are we from? what is our favourite toy? When we had a look at the letter, we saw that lots of capital letters and full stops were missing! Luckily, we know all about it and were able to correct the letter. After this, we did our best to write a letter back to the Magic Toymaker with our answers and we also thought about questions to ask. Let’s see if we get a letter back next week…! In MATHS We have been looking at 2D shapes. We can now name a variety of 2D shapes and provide appropriate facts e.g. a pentagon has 5 sides. | Year 2 In LITERACY this week we have continued trying to track down the tiger who came to iCAN! We used adjectives to describe the tiger's appearance e.g. blood red eyes, jet black stripes, and his behaviour e.g. savage, wild, ferocious. After this we designed wanted posters so hopefully we can solve this mystery next week! In MATHS we have been busy partitioning numbers. This came in really handy when we had to solve some pretty tricky addition problems. It's not always easy to remember the steps but we will keep practising. |
