Another phenomenal International Day!!
MP1 have had so much fun visiting a wide variety of countries today. What an amazing experience! A HUGE thank you to all the parents who came and helped - whether you were in the food court, classrooms or were busy getting your children dressed up in their traditional costumes, you really helped make today special.
Here is a sneaky peek at some of the fun we got up to day.
IPC Learning Journey We've all gone potty for pots in MP1 this week! We have been busy designing and creating our own paper pots based on the designs from Ancient Greece. Did you know the Ancient Greeks used to decorate their pots with images from the stories they would tell? What stories can you spot on our pots? | |
Year 1 In LITERACY we have carried on with our learning about Little Red Riding Hood. We learnt how to use the prefix un and what it actually means. We also thought about things the big bad wolf would say using any of those un-words we learned. Then we had a go at telling the story as if we were the Big Bad Wolf. What would he say if he told the story? After this we wrote our own story using all the things we learned! In MATHS Year 1 have been creating patterns using cubes. They sequenced a variety of patterns and used the correct vocabulary to describe the pattern e.g. first, next, then. | Year 2 This week in LITERACY we have been learning about noun phrases and adjectives and how to turn these into expanded noun phrases to be more specific in our descriptions. In MATHS we have been recapping our learning on different measures. We looked at the different ways we measure length, mass and capacity. We tried to measure and draw a straight line very accurately with a ruler and compared cm, mm and metres. |
