Where are you going?
IPC Learning Journey We really enjoyed continuing our learning about the Ancient Greeks this week. We learnt about Ancient Greek theatres and how they performed different types of plays such as comedies or tragedies. Did you know ancient Greeks wore masks during their performances? Maybe you could find out why. We had a go at making our own Greek masks. Take a look: | |
| Family Learning Day It was great to see so many parents and carers join in with our learning this week. We had so much fun sharing our learning with you and it looked like you were all having fun too. Maybe you learnt something new or practised a skill you hadn't tried for a while. it was great to see you all and MP1 look forward to seeing you all again next year for another special Family learning day! |
Year 1 In LITERACY we started learning about a new traditional tale: Little Red Riding Hood. We already knew this story very well and were able to retell the story with ease. On Family Learning Day we were very lucky to have some extra adults in to help us learn and read about character descriptions. We learnt many new adjectives to describe characters. Later we made posters of some baddies in traditional-/fairy tales. We also had a go at writing a character description, using as many adjectives as we could think of! In MATHS Year 1 have been learning their 10x, 5x and 3x table. We used a mixture of equipment to prove that various answers were correct and explained our reasoning. | Year 2 This week we have continued to read a range of Greek Myths in LITERACY looking at the different characters, settings, problems and resolutions. We now know all about King Midas, Theseus and the Minotaur and Pandora's Box! This week in MATHS we have collected data based on a packet of skittles (before we ate them). First we looked at what fraction of skittles there were of each colour. After that we presented our findings using a bar chart and a pictogram. From this we could beginning to answer questions such as most popular, least poplar and the difference between certain colours. |
