Learning Journey
MathsThose of us in Year 1 have been consolidating our 3D shape learning and finding out about properties of 3D shapes. We searched for 3D shapes in the classroom and were asked to describe them using the words faces, edges and vertices. We also described the differences between 2D and 3D shapes. In Year 2 we have been learning about data handling! We now understand how to create tally charts and turn these tally charts into bar graphs. We also practised interpreting our data based on the results we had! | LiteracyIn Year 1 we have been practising speaking and writing the past tense. We used our knowledge of suffixes and spelling rules for words ending in 'ed' to change present tense verbs into past tense verbs. We noticed how some words change completely e.g. go becomes went. Those of us in Year 2 have been very busy consolidating our learning about instructional texts. We practised ordering instructions, this helped us to remember the key features that we have to include when writing instructions. We learned the importance of imperative verbs and adverbs and tried really hard to include these in our own instructions! We created a recipe for our very own special pancakes! Once we had created our recipe using all the relevant key features we then followed the instructions to make our own scrumptious pancakes! They were delicious! |
