For our Entry Point we held an amazing party! This party really got us in the mood for our new unit! We made carnival masks, played musical chairs, made our very own fruity punch, decorated cookies, played balloon games and even had a disco!
Lots of fun was had by all!
In Year 1 we have been practising our addition skills. We consolidated our understanding of adding 10 more to a two digit number and then used this knowledge to help us add 11 to a two digit number. We firstly added our ten and then added our unit. We showed great understanding about partitioning in order to solve addition sums.
Those of us in Year 2 revisited learning we experienced before the February holiday. We have been busy finding fractions of shapes, factions of numbers and have used our thinking skills to solve tricky word problems involving fractions! It was great to be able to consolidate our fraction learning.
Those of us in Year 1 are still in a party mood! We have been practising writing lists in literacy! Can you guess what lists we have been creating? We made party food lists! We have also been creating party invitations, making sure we remember all the key features of an invitation.
In Year 2 we have been very creative with our poetry learning. We discovered all the fun things you can do with alliteration and also learned about acrostic poems. We then created amazing acrostic poems about our friends and tried to use our new knowledge of alliteration when creating these poems.
