MATHS DAY
The children did an absolute brilliant job promoting and selling the different products.
Year 1 has been making key chains with Hama beads. They chose their designs and carefully counted the beads and put them together. We made price tags and posters to make our stall look attractive.
Year 2 has been working on pizzas. They had to find out which toppings people prefer in order to make pizza that would sell.
And we were sold out quickly!
The learners also had a chance to buy products made by other classes; especially the slime station of Year 6 was very popular, as well as the fruit pizzas made by Year 4!
It was great to share this afternoon with all the learners from Primary and to use our maths skills in a real life situation.
The learners were so excited, they would really like to make and sell products soon again!
In Year 2 we have used our story plans to write our own version of the story of Bumblebear. We applied our knowledge of adverbs and worked hard to expand on our plans by including time connectives and descriptive language. We are now becoming more independent at checking our writing and making improvements. We have also worked with our learning facilitator to look at what we have achieved and what our next steps should be.
27th March 2019
There is a sign up sheet by the door of each classroom.
After this we made sundials and kept track of the shadows at different times during the day. They were responsible to help each other in their teams, which they did very well!
Do you know how shadows change? Can you explain why this happens?
