What an exciting start to our GEOGRAPHY learning, as we took a tuk tuk trip around Phnom Penh. We followed the route on our maps carefully and spotted lots of landmarks along the way. We got dizzy driving round central market and stopped to take pictures of the trains at the station. We saw lots of boats down by the river and were wowed by the royal palace. It was lots of fun riding in the tuk tuks and we saw lots of other transport zoom by. Take a look at our journey below.
Year 1 In LITERACY we have been writing our spooky descriptions. To help make our writing interesting we practised turning simple sentences into MONSTER sentences by using different connectives like and, or, but, so. We used our senses to describe the setting and included lots of wow words. In MATHS we practised sharing objects into different groups. We discovered even numbers can be shared equally but odd numbers can not. We even practised writing division number sentences to show this. Super learning! | Year 2 In LITERACY we have been working hard on finishing their poems. We thought about all the poetic devices we have learnt over the past few weeks and wrote our poems about transport. We also practised to perform poems by using a clear voice and even some actions and gestures. Fantastic work! Here is one of our poems: Super Duper Mega Transport A big boat rides the waves. DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFF Splish, splash, splosh Watch out for the fish! It’s the ginormous rusty Titanic Oh no, it will sink! Let’s take the train under the sea Choo choo choo Chuff chuff chuff Into the tunnel Out the other side A comfortable ride Next the plane It makes loops in the sky Like a rollercoaster Up high Poem written by: Chet, Ravuth, Luke and Sommanita In MATHS we've been recapping the fact that a clock can be divided into 4; o’clock, quarter past, half past and quarter to. We have been practising to tell the time by using analogue clocks and positioning hands to show quarter past, quarter to and half past. |
