What goals do you want to achieve this year?
What new things are you going to try?
How are you going to be a better version of you?
This week we continued our learning all about toys and games from the past and compared them with the games we still play today. Some games have changed a lot whilst others are more similar. We thought about why we don't play certain games anymore; maybe they were too dangerous.
Year 1 In LITERACY we have written our last letter to the Magic Toymaker. We even included the story of the toys and what they did last night. We remembered to use the past tense in our writing when we were retelling all the different events. This was absolutely amazing! After writing our letters the we got a next step to work on. This was to improve our piece of writing, which we did with lots of enthusiasm! | Year 2 In LITERACY we continued learning about poetry and looked more closely at how shape poems are made. We worked cooperatively in our teams to make our own shape poems about toys using specific adjectives, alliteration and similes. We then used these features to help us write an acrostic poem. That was quite tricky because we had to think of words that stated with a particular letter. The end result was very impressive! |
MP1 had lots of fun on Maths Day! We didn't realise there was so much maths all around us. First we learnt some really fun math games. After that we made shape snacks for the party and measured juice using ml to make our fruit punch. Once we had finished, we got everything ready for the party. We shared our learning with all the other members of iCAN and taught them our new games. What a busy day!
