Have you ever seen a bonfire?
What other festivals celebrate with fireworks?
Have we really come to the end of our Flowers and Insects unit already? There has been so much learning happening in MP1 and to celebrate we took a trip to visit the butterfly farm at ISPP. We were amazed to see so many different species of butterfly flying all around us. We even got to see the different stages of caterpillars as they grew fatter and fatter. Some of us were even brave enough to gently stroke the caterpillars - what great risk takers you are! MP1 would like to say a huge THANK YOU to ISPP for welcoming us and it was great to make some new friends ...and see some old ones. Please take a look through our photos below and see if you can name the different parts of the butterfly. If you look closely enough you can even see it's curly, twirly tongue.
Year 1 In LITERACY we have been writing about how a bean grows. We still needed to remember to write capital letters and full stops. We have also tried our best using the new topic words we learned: roots, stem, seedling etc! Some of us even tried to include some connectives! In MATHS we have been learning about time. First, we sequenced the school day using 'time themed' vocabulary e.g. morning, afternoon and night. We also made personalised clocks and used the clocks to tell the correct time; o'clock and half past. | Year 2 In LITERACY we continued writing our information books about bees. We remembered to include all the key features; headings, facts, contents page and a glossary. When writing the blurb we worked really had to persuade the readers to read our books. Take a look at some examples and let's see if it worked. In MATHS this week we have been learning about 2D shapes. We have revised the names of 2D shapes and looked at the different properties. We have even drawn our own pentagons, hexagons and octagons! |
