This week we have been reflecting through our topic transport using non-fiction books and cooperative structure games. We had fun making transport with pancakes and going on a transport hunt in the big school for our EXIT POINT!
What a fantastic learning block it has been! iCAN PLAY and NURSERY have been amazing learners: exploring, discovering and gaining new knowledge and practising their skills to understand the topic we have been learning throughout this learning block. They showed great resilience and thinking skills to answer the questions throughout their learning journey. The learners were also excellent enquirers asking questions of why things happen and how things work and showing care and concern for living things.
MATHS This week in maths we have been measuring and comparing sizes of things. We have been sorting shapes and learning their names. We began to explore the features of shapes by counting sides and corners. How many corners does a triangle have? How many sides does a square have? | LITERACY This week we have been practising our skills on segmenting and blending three letter words using games on letters and sounds programme. We enjoyed feeding Metal Mike with words. We were also practising to sound out initial sounds in words playing various games using our sandpit area. We continued practising writing our names on sand and glitter. We made marks with wheels on paint and glitter. |
Thank you to all the families who joined us for our class assembly and our Exit Point. The children loved sharing their learning from this learning block and a fantastic way to end our Dinosaur topic, exploring the volcano eruption.
