We are enjoying our topic of Minibeasts this learning block. This week we looked at flowers and leaves and learned how flowers grow as well as names of flowers.
What is your favourite flower?
We made some pretty leaf prints and colourful flower drawings. We used different shapes to make flower pictures and wrote our names on leaves. We also watched a time lapse of a sunflower growing too!
This week in phonics, we are now in groups and are working on the phase that suits our needs. Ms. Niumai’s group is working on phase 3 and Ms. Gemma’s group is working on blending CVC words. Ms. Vijaya’s group is recapping s/a/t/p/i/n. We have been practising using wow words in sentences for Big Talk.
We are excited to take home our blue bags with our reading books from school so we can practise our reading at home.
We drew life cycle of a butterfly in our writing journals and wrote out parts of a flower on a template. We have been listening to The Tiny Seed story book and The Hungry Caterpillar.
In Maths this week, we have ordering leaves in size order and have looked at different sized sunflowers. We also created symmetry patterns on butterflies.
