iCAN PLAY/NURSERY
This week we have been using iPads and interactive whiteboards to draw different superheroes. We have been discussing the differences between goodies and baddies and looking into how superheroes work together as teams.
This week we have been using our super powers to add and take away through songs, rhymes and games. The learners have been comparing how much containers can hold and using language related to capacity. We have also been using mathematical opposites such as big or small, tall, short or long and wide or narrow through pictures and games on the interactive whiteboard.

In phonics we continued practising our letters and sounds in groups. We have been working hard on our initial sounds and blending three letter words through various games and activities. We have also been busy pretending: writing lists of special powers on sand, shaving foam and glitter.
We also drew and designed our own superheroes and we will share it with class next week.
Reception
This week we have been learning all about The Little Red Hen. We have learned to retell the story using actions and our own story maps. We talked about whether the dog, cat and duck should have helped the Little Red Hen to make the bread and decided that they should have all co-operated and worked together emphasising the importance of the 9 personal goals of our school. We also made a 3D Red Hen using paper plates and googly eyes.
Literacy This week In phonics, Ms Gemma's group have been revisiting phase two and three sounds. Ms Vijaya’s group have been learning the diagraphs 'oo' and 'ar'. Ms Johanna's group have been practising blending and segmenting CVC. | Maths This week in maths we have been recapping number bonds to 10 and doubling numbers to 10. We have also been revising patterns. |
