This week we have been learning the sense of taste. The question we asked was... How do we taste food?
We ended our topic 'Five senses' by reflecting on what we have been learning through this learning block. We celebrated our learning by playing cooperative games using our five senses.
We are learning to count reliably up to 10.
This week in topic we have been learning all about the Cambodian Festival, Bon Om Touk. The children made their own boats and we had our own boat race in the swimming pool. We have also been testing which items float and which items sink. We predicted if we thought the item would sink or float and then we had fun testing the items.
We have been learning one of our Personal Goals- Cooperation. We played lots of games where we have to work as a team and cooperate. We worked hard to pass the hula hoop around the whole circle without letting go of our hands. We also played toss the ball game and made sure every member had a turn before we go to the next round.
In phonics we have been learning the sounds l, ll and ss. We have now finished all the Phase 2 sounds and tricky words and will spend the next 3 weeks recapping all of the sounds and tricky words /high frequency words which we have learned.
