The reception learners really enjoyed our minibeasts topic and have so much knowledge about bees, ladybugs, butterflies and spiders. We hope they share this knowledge with you at home and continue to build on their curiosity about minibeasts.
CREATIVE ARTS WEEK! Early Years had a fantastic, energetic start introducing our Creative arts week. Our theme was CIRCUS . We had fun exploring acrobatic games, making clowns with paper plate and pom poms and making yummy clown ice cream at iCANPLAY. We also had talented Mr. Serji balloon modeling with our learners. iCANPLAY and Nursery learners had fun acting out and dressing up as clowns and dancing with our wonderful Ms. Julie! Early Years had fun painting their faces with our Magnificent Ms. Maggie! Reception learners had a super energetic morning visiting fly Phonm Penh! Reception Minibeasts Exit Point! To end our wonderful minibeasts topic the learners took a trip to ISPP's butterfly garden on Monday. They where amazed to see so many butterflies flying around the enclosure, noticing their colour, pattern and symmetrical wings. They even got to see some very hungry caterpillars munching on leaves. As they strolled through the garden they talked about the different stages of the butterfly life cycle and how the butterfly uses its long tongue to drink the juice (nectar) from the flowers. They linked their trip to their knowledge of bees as they passed by some flowers with lots of pollen and commented on how bees use the pollen to make honey. The learners enjoyed using technology , iPad, to document what they saw. It was tricky trying to take pictures of the fast flying butterflies. Before leaving ISPP they again documented their visit and knowledge by drawing what they had seen and the different stages of the butterfly life cycle. The reception learners really enjoyed our minibeasts topic and have so much knowledge about bees, ladybugs, butterflies and spiders. We hope they share this knowledge with you at home and continue to build on their curiosity about minibeasts.
