This week we have been continuing to explore space through books and role-play area. We have been looking at websites to find out more information on space. We made spaceships and rockets with plastic bottles. We also made a beautiful rocket scene. We enjoyed exploring space in our tuff spot tray looking closely at asteroids, stars and planets through magnifying glasses.
In literacy we have been playing initial sound games and rhyming words on Phase 1 and we practised writing our names with different materials.
This week in Maths we have been practising our counting with rockets, planets, ducks and frogs. We are also learning to form numbers with foam and sand.
Thank you to all the families who joined us for our class assembly and our Exit Point. The children loved sharing their learning from this learning block and a fantastic way to end our Dinosaur topic, exploring the volcano eruption.
In Phonics some of the learners are learning ‘ar’ and ‘oo’ sounds and the other two groups are recapping Phase 2 and Phase 3 sounds. Some learners will be learning tricky words ‘not’ and ‘got’.
We have been learning to add single digits and subtract one single digit. We also continue working with number bonds of 5.
