Learning Journey This week we continued exploring patterns with colours. We shared the story Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do you See? by Bill Marting Jr. We enjoyed making I spy bottles and making caterpillars with colour patterns. Maths In maths, we continued making repeated patterns with colours and jungle animals. We enjoyed playing pattern games on the interactive whiteboard. Top Marks- Finish the Pattern http://resources.hwb.wales.gov.uk/VTC/simple_patterns/eng/Introduction/MainSession.htm | Literacy In our phonics we will continue tuning into sounds using various games and resources such as ‘Metal Mike’ and flash cards. We will practise segmenting three letter words and listening to the initial sounds in words. |
Learning Journey We have been continuing with our topic Mini-beasts by learning about the busy bees. We enjoyed looking at PowerPoints, songs, stories and pictures of butterflies. We have been busy making hats with the life cycle of a bee on it. We also used our phonic skills to write the initial sounds of the bee. We shared the story and later watched the video of The Very Greedy Bee by Steve Smallman. Later, we watched the video of how the bee collects nectar from the flowers and make honey. We enjoyed doing cooking activities like making wobbly jelly and spreading honey on bread. In our nature smart area we have been looking and observing minibeasts using a magnifying glass. |
Literacy In Phonics some of the learners are learning ‘w’ and ‘x’ sounds and the other learners are recapping blending and segmenting of Phase 2 sounds. | MATHS In maths we have been recapping all about 2D and 3D shapes. We went into detail about hexagons and made a hexagon shaped bee hive. |
