iCAN PLAY/Nursery
This week we have been busy making superhero masks. We used the masks to role play different superhero characters. We also made tall and short buildings with Lego.
This week in maths we have been looking at shapes around us in our environment. We enjoyed going around school identifying objects and matching them to the 2D shapes we have been learning throughout the year. We also had super fun finding 2D shapes hidden with shaving foam in the tuff spot tray.
In our phonics sessions we have been revising rhyming words. We enjoyed playing games on the Interactive white board finding pictures that rhyme and match them all to bake a curious cake. Can you find words that rhyme with cat?
hat
bat
rat

Learning Journey This week we have been sharing the story The Gingerbread Man. We enjoyed designing and making our own gingerbread men. Luckily ours did not run away from us! We also worked cooperatively in pairs to order and retell the story. We also wrote speech bubbles on what the gingerbread man and the fox said. Next week we will be sharing the story Hansel and Gretel. | |
This week we have been learning all about weight and have been comparing items to see which item is the heaviest and which is the lightest. We used spring scales and weighing scales to test our predictions. We also drew pictures of things which are longer than the scale of 30cm. We also tested the weight of our shoes with blocks and tried to see whether our prediction were true. We are going to make our own gingerbread men, decorate them and eat them before they run away during our celebration time.
This week in Phonics , Miss Gemma's group has been revisiting Phase 3 letter sounds.
Miss Vijaya’s group has been learning the diagraph ‘er’ and ‘ure’.
Miss Johanna's group has been practising blending and segmenting CVC.
